Frequently Asked Questions

Find quick answers about Bloombay candle making supplies, wax selection, wick testing, shipping, returns, and general ordering questions.

Products and Materials
What does Bloombay sell?

Bloombay focuses on small-batch friendly candle making supplies, including candle wax, wax additives, wicks, candle dye, containers, and helpful candle making guides.

Our product selection is built for beginners, hobby makers, and small candle businesses who want practical materials in manageable sizes.

Are your waxes ready to use?

Most waxes are sold as raw candle making materials, so they are ready to melt and test, but they are not pre-finished candles.

Some waxes perform well on their own, while others may still need proper wick selection, fragrance testing, pouring adjustments, or additives depending on your project.

Which wax should I choose for container candles?

For container candles, start with a container wax such as soy container wax, coconut-soy container wax, or paraffin-soy container blends designed for jars and tins.

Good container wax choices are usually smoother, softer, and easier to wick in glass or metal vessels.

Which wax should I choose for wax melts?

For wax melts or tarts, choose a wax designed for molds or melts rather than a soft container wax. Melt wax usually has a firmer texture and better mold release.

If you are unsure, check the product page or candle guide before ordering.

Which wax should I choose for pillar candles?

For pillar candles, votives, or molded candles, use a pillar wax or mold wax. These waxes are generally harder and made to release better from molds.

Soft container waxes are usually not the best choice for freestanding candles.

Fragrance, Wicks and Testing
Can I add fragrance oil to all waxes?

Many candle waxes can be used with fragrance oil, but fragrance load limits are different for each wax. A wax that works well at one percentage may not perform well at a higher load.

Always check the product details and test small batches first before making a larger batch.

Do I need to test my wick?

Yes. Wick testing is one of the most important parts of candle making. Even if two candles use the same wax, changing the fragrance oil, dye, jar diameter, or vessel shape can change wick performance.

A wick chart is only a starting point—not a final guarantee.

Why does my candle have frosting, sinkholes, or rough tops?

These issues can happen because of wax type, fragrance load, pouring temperature, room temperature, cooling speed, or jar shape.

Soy wax in particular may show frosting or surface texture more easily than paraffin blends. Small test batches help you adjust your process before scaling up.

Do you provide candle making advice?

We provide practical product information and helpful starting guidance, but candle making always requires your own testing.

Our guides and calculators are designed to help you choose better starting points, especially for wax type, fragrance load, and wick testing.

Shipping and Handling
How long does shipping take?

Shipping time depends on your location, carrier service, and seasonal order volume. Processing time and transit time are not always the same.

You will receive tracking information once your order has shipped.

Do you ship wax in small sizes?

Yes. Bloombay focuses on small-batch friendly sizes such as smaller wax quantities that are easier for beginners and small makers to test before buying more.

Can weather affect my order?

Yes. Heat or cold during transit can affect some candle materials, especially waxes and temperature-sensitive supplies.

Slight cosmetic changes during shipping do not always affect product usability, but testing is still recommended after arrival.

Do you offer local pickup?

If local pickup is available, it will normally appear as an option at checkout. If you do not see it, please contact us before ordering to confirm current availability.

Returns and Orders
Can I return my order?

Return eligibility depends on the item condition and the type of product ordered. Please review the return policy on your site and contact us if you have a problem with an order.

What if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Please contact us as soon as possible after delivery and include your order number, clear photos, and a short explanation of the issue.

This helps us review the problem faster and provide the best next step.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If your order has not shipped yet, we may be able to help. Contact us quickly after placing the order, because once an order is processed or shipped, changes may no longer be possible.

Do you offer custom quotes for larger orders?

For larger supply needs, please contact us with the items and quantities you need. We can let you know what options are available.

Wholesale and Support
Do you offer wholesale?

Bloombay mainly serves small-batch makers, but you can still contact us if you have a larger supply request. We can let you know whether a bulk option is available for the item you need.

Can you help me choose the right materials?

Yes, we can help with a practical starting direction based on your project type, such as container candles, wax melts, pillar candles, or decorative candle projects.

Final performance still depends on your own testing, especially for fragrance load and wick choice.
